Last weekend we celebrated my sister and baby George with a puppy baby shower! My sister and her husband have the sweetest labradoodle named Cooper and their nursery is puppy themed, so we figured it was appropriate to use as our shower theme as well! I designed the invitations centered around a doodle portrait they have in George's nursery, prominently featured his initials, and tied in the blue and white gingham we planned to use throughout the shower.
Due to a super unfortunate COVID exposure, I wasn't able to be there in person to celebrate with our immediate family after planning the shower for months (including numerous cookie decorating practice rounds and learning how to bake macarons specifically for this occasion...), but my mom and aunts pulled off every detail even better than I could have ever imagined! We included a virtual portion to the shower, which consisted of a zoom call with family and friends, and it was so nice to include everyone that wasn't able to travel during these crazy times. Chelsea took everyone on a tour of George's nursery and we were able to see her open all of her gifts!
Below are photos of some of my favorite details, from baby photos of the grandparents, pictures of Chelsea and her husband Ed with their childhood puppies, garlands I had made with my handy dandy Cricut, the cookies my sister ended up making (which turned out SO beautiful), and all of the themed food!
Although the shower was far different than I had imagined throwing for my first nephew, it was the best we could dream up during the weirdness of 2020. We are SO excited that baby George will be here in a few short weeks and bring some happiness and excitement to this year!!!
